We're part way through tier 15, with 8 of 12 down in normal mode in our 10 man team, our Saturday social raid has hit a few bumps. We're actively recruiting (still), but getting consistent progress. We've managed to hover around 20th on server for most of this tier with some very good effort. The gap in output required and where we were at the start of this tier is massive, we came into the tier pushing rankings on worldoflogs.com and are currently hovering at 60-70% of max for dps.
If you're considering a healing role as either monk, druid or priest in the progression group, give us a yell in game to discuss.

For those that haven't noticed, 5.2 has landed. We're still building our healthy roster up, but we've got a ways to go before we have a viable 25 again. We had two 10 toon groups go into ToT on the first week, with both experiencing some success. The guild finished T14 at 29th place on the server, with the guild still counting as a 10/25 because of our social 25 raid on Saturdays. We need to work out where we're going as far as progression is concerned, but the Saturday raid got good support to continue in a forum vote.
We're going to try open up ToES for the Saturday raid so people can get gear that is closer to the new Thunderking raid. Hope to see you in game soon.

Progress has been made, we're currently working through the raiding content. We've cleared MSV and are working on HoF, with a night spent trying to manage heroic Stone Guard. We're still actively looking for a ranged dps for our core group that is able to execute, do good dps and reduce their incoming damage. If you're solid DPS, can constantly get 60-75% of rank on worldoflogs.com give us a yell.

Welcome to Panda!
We've had a few weeks now, and a significant number of guild members now have 90s and are merrily grinding their way through heroics and dailies. Please head over to the forums to look at the plans for starting up raiding again.
We've got new monks, some new players and a few toon changes that have happened. Make sure you get online and say hello.

We finally managed to get a team together and kill Deathwing. The instance lock was extended one week after the first clear of spine after 5.0.4 to put us back where we were before 5.0.4. It feels kind of weird to only have killed 10 bosses since July due to rolling lockouts but it's help us get a lot of practice in. I forgot to get a screenshot, so you'll have to take my word for it :)
We finished with a world ranking of around 12500 and server ranking of around 25 for cata. Given the 235,000 odd global guilds, and the 165 on server, I think we've done well.
edit:
We were within the top 400 for Oceania.

I'm thinking that we organise some kind of dumpling fest for launch night, given previous xpacs have been unplayable on launch until the next morning.
We're upto Madness, we got to 10% last week, we stand a very good chance of getting the dragon down this week. If so, we get two chances at the 100% mount. It will be a very rewarding end to Cata when we do it. Good luck team, it has certainly been earnt.
People are indicating which mains they want for Panda. Please get over to the forums and have your say. I'd like to have the numbers for Panda sorted going into the xpac so I know what to get in the calendars. I still have a soft spot for 25s, but I know folks like 10s as well. Let's make it happen.

With Blizzard announcing the MoP code drop on 28 August, we're really in the home stretch. We're still actively looking for our heroic DS kill, either before or after the 28th. There isn't too much else to be said. Check the forums for the conversations around clearing.
With MoP coming, we've had quite a few people ask about main changes. We have no issues at all with anybody changing their mains, keep in mind raid spots if you're looking at raiding. If you're picking a new toon, make sure you think about whether you enjoy playing the off spec. Currently there are only a few who have indicated absolutely no role change, myself being one.
Good luck, make sure you keep enjoying yourselves.

We got our second set of daggers this week, with Terrestrial nabbing a fine set of the pokey things. I'm sure they'll be put to good use in our attempt to cure deathwing of his madness. We've gotten 6/8 on heroic, and with a little more consistency in roster we should be able to get some good learning on spine and madness.
This week we also went back and cleared out some old content, we now have all the old raid content cleared as a guild up until heroic ToC and RS. We have heroic ICC on 10. Depending on how enthuised people are on a non raid night, we will get some more collected.
We're looking to either promote or recruit for the Sunday/Monday raid group. We are short a tank currently and could do with a lock/mage dps option.

Diablo has launched, and nairy an alt is to be seen. Evil has called and most of the guild has gone around his place. The main wed/thurs raid was a little light on for launch week, so we ran with those we had. Unusually for us no alt runs went on the weekend so instead of the 4 DS clears that normally fill the guild log we only had 2.
We've moved onto five heroic kills in DS, with Warlord being our latest. Only Hagara to go until we can start work on spine and madness. Good to see momentum still being maintained. If we keep the focus up we may well be tackling the mad dragon in early June.

It's been a little while, but we're still making progress. We're 2/8 in 10 man heroic with a couple of bosses within shooting distance. Our 25 man raid is currently rebuilding, with 4-7 pugs filling up most weeks. Each week we're adding in a couple of new members and hopefully we'll have the raid back on track and clearing out DS (currently 6/8 on 25 man). We've taken a smaller set of people on the heroic journey and with the departures of Lami and Cake we're again actively looking at our roster to find people with the spark and self motivation to step up a notch.
Focus from here on out is to get people starting to think about MoP, which mains they want to carry forward into the expansion and which toons they want to give quiet time. A number of folks are already in the beta (/shakesfistatbliz) and reporting many bugs and learnings. It will be good to see the new class in action. Anyways, with many months before MoP and a few more nights of learning we intend to go into MoP with smiles on our faces.

Well done guys, much hard work by all. We'll have to do a couple more.

Cake got his staff from the huge quest line. Congratulations Cake and well done guys on a smooth run.

We've managed to clear the lower tower, not on 25 but if we get greater focus we'll get there this week. It looks like everybody has taken on board the changes (our paladins can aoe heal!) and the melee are now pushing hard. The world is looking good for more learning, more wiping and more entertainment. I must remember to upload the pictures of us killing things!

With 4.3 dropping last night it's time to take the fun to a new level. There are strong reasons to believe that the cow level has been ported from another game and been secretly implemented. We've got a messy month ahead with Christmas parties and work dinners affecting attendance, hopefully it won't be too long before we're happily roflstomping the big chicken himself!
With three new heroics, a bunch of orange staves to finish and a cow level to discover, the world looks all sparkly!
-
This is very cliche for anybody who raided vanilla, but finally we have Rag down. Now to convert it to a 25 kill!
-
We're progressing through the content, getting to 5/7 before the pre-4.3 nerfs hit. We managed to get the bird boss after several nights of learning the fight and pushing to the dps curve. It's an interesting fight, and certainly involves a lot of movement. We went and spent the rest of the evening on Majordomo and learnt some valuable lessons. With the nerfs to the content, we will certainly have a different time over the next few weeks.

We got some quality time on the walking boss and one shotted it. Small changes, like only turning him one way and rdps/heals not stacking on the big add, made for a single attempt kill on the boss (screenshot soon). It was a good night's effort, with one wipe on Beth and then 13 attempts working out the mechanics of the bird boss. We're having a few issues fielding a 25 currently, with sign ups about 2-3 light and no-shows hurting. We may need to go recruiting again. Looking forward to this week's 25. We should be able to get 3 bosses down and get folks to see the excitment that is the bird boss.
Jerok and Totty have made progress with the pvp group, getting our first victory (guess which bear forgot to sign up and missed out). The average gear level for the pvpers means they're now only held back by their experience and skill... that only comes with time and many many deaths (theirs, not ours).

We've entered Firelands, and everybody is working through their daily grinds to buy the new shinies. We started in firelands in 25, but having a look at the gear of some people we've stepped back into t11 for a couple of weeks to rapidly gear the folks that are a little behind. We've got the spider and hunter down in 10s but need some better output to repeat the act in 25s. Overall I think the biggest issue we've had raiding since 4.2 came out has been the nearly daily instance and then server restarts. It has cost us early ends to our raids nearly every night.
Welcome those new folks that have joined, and forgive Daki, he's like that...

After I found out the hard way not to take on an elite rare alone an impromtu group of guildies came to Hyjal to seek revenge. After a few false starts we worked out to kill the adds a couple at a time and then took on Garr. A healer that could have dispelled the shackles would have been more useful but Dru and Eve did a great job tag team tanking with a bit of help from Lami. Scura won the most deaths awards with 10 or so but luckily the graveyard was close as we all succumbed at one time or other.
We got him in the end though! Great job guys, the loot was rubbish but it sure was fun!
Check out the screen shot in the gallery.
Cheers,
Ahls
